Cell Phones

Families and Friends:

Beginning immediately, upon entrance to the facility, we will assertively ask all visitors to

store and/or hide their cell phones, which are recording devices, until they exit the facility.

For over a year, signs have been posted THROUGHOUT the facility that the hallways and community areas

are ‘CELL PHONE FREE“. However, those signs are ignored by some, either accidentally

or blatantly.

Our Family Council meeting is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 2 p.m.

in the Library.  Please make an effort to attend so we can engage as many voices as possible.

We recognize that many visitors must keep their telephones on their person for work and/or

personal obligations, and we wish to respect that.  However, we must also protect our

resident as outlined in the Federal Regulations which govern the facility.

In the meantime, we will be reminding visitors to secure and conceal their cellular phones,

I-pads, etc., while in the facility. Holding a phone is your hand does not ensure protection of

the residents as the recording mechanism can be engaged.

If a visitor’s cell phone must be within their vision, the visitor will be asked to visit with the

loved one in the lobby and/or library, AWAY from other residents who may be at risk.

All residents deserve protection.

If a family wishes to share photos, telephone calls, music or videos WITH THEIR LOVED

ONE, it MUST BE DONE ONLY in the resident’s room, or the lobby or the library.

I look forward to your feedback and input on the 22nd!
